Huawei Teases the P8 Flagship, Hints It Will Have Massive Battery Life

Like LG, Huawei chose to stay away from making any big product announcements at MWC 2015, leaving the spotlight to shine on Samsung and HTC.

Even so, the Chinese phone maker is gearing up to launch a flagship of its own, which will apparently arrive as a successor for the Ascend P7 smartphone. The announcement is due in April, with the new device being set to launch as the Huawei P8. The company has been rumored to renounce the Ascend moniker since quite some time and it appears this will indeed be the case. A few weeks before the event, Huawei is teasing the new phone by posting an image on China’s social media website Weibo, displaying a huge digital number 8. But there’s a twist: a segment of the 8 has been replaced with a full battery indicator, and a divine light is shining upon it.

Which is the company’s way of telling us that we should be expecting a handset with a huge battery life. However, we can only hope at this point. Sony has already launched a phone, the Xperia M4, that promises a 2-day battery life. Could it be that Huawei will take things even further and launch a smartphone with a 3-day life cycle? Word on the street has it that the new Huawei flagship will arrive with a 5.2-inch FHD display and a ceramic uni-body. As for processing power, the phone will rely on the company’s in-house Kirin 930 chipset, which made a debut inside the MediaPad X2 tablet/phone. The phone will have 3GB of RAM and dual-camera arrangement similar to the one we saw in the Honor 6 Plus.

LG G4 First Press Render Leaks, Confirms Curved Form Factor

LG is expected to officially unveil its next flagship smartphone sometime in April and while there are quite a few rumors on the G4, we don't have any photos of the actual device.

Well, that has been recently fixed by @OnLeaks who published the first press render of the LG G4. However, before getting too hyped on the G4, you should know that the device shown in the picture is an early, non-final build. This means that LG may still change some of the phone's design, though considering we're only one month away from the official unveiling, it's likely that the final version of G4 will look pretty much the same. What's interesting about the G4's design is that it's a mix between the previous LG G3 and the company's G Flex series of curved smartphones. This means that the LG G4 will probably pack a curved display which, according to the latest rumors, will feature Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The power on/on button has been kept under the main camera on the back side and we can also see a LED flask to the right of the module camera.

The G4 won't be the slimmest flagship smartphone on the market
The leaker also gave us the dimensions of the LG G4: 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm, but not the weight. We also know that the smartphone will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box, which isn't surprising since Google has just announced the new version of the OS. Other specs rumored for the LG G4 include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal memory. The phone's camera will definitely feature 4K video recording and the LED flash we're seeing in the picture, but there's no news on the Laser autofocus feature. Since we're getting close to the launch, more information on the G4 will emerge in the coming days, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
