Oppo R6007 Arrives in China with Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 CPU

Over the weekend, Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo has unveiled to the world yet another cheap Android-based smartphone, in the form of Oppo R6007, and has already released it in its homeland market.

The new handset has been put up for sale in China today via Oppo's own website, with pretty decent specifications for the market segment it was aimed at. Moreover, the device appears to resemble the Oppo Find 7 a lot, and PhoneArena even notes that one could easily mistake it for a Find 7 mini. The Oppo R6007 is smaller than the Find 7, but features about the same outer design as the already available smartphone, which ties the two together. Starting with today, June 3, users in China will be able to purchase the new smartphone for 1,799 Yuan, or around $288 / €211. The handset will be released in two color versions, namely Black and White. The specs list of the new device looks quite appealing as well, starting with its 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) touchscreen display, and continuing with its 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor.

The smartphone was also announced with 1GB of RAM inside, as well as with 8GB of internal memory. However, it sports a microSD memory card slot too, thus allowing users to add some more storage space to it, if necessary. On the back, the new Oppo R6007 features an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, which should be able to record videos in full HD resolution. Moreover, it sports a 2MP front camera, allowing users to easily make video calls while on the go. The new mobile phone is powered by a 2140mAh battery, which should ensure long usage times. The handset measures 137 x 68 x 7.75 mm and weighs 128 grams. The specs list of the new device also includes support for TD-LTE networks in China, along with the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS receiver. Moreover, it comes with the entire set of common sensors inside.

Oppo also unveiled the new Oppo R6007 with the Color OS loaded on top, based on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. However, considering the specs of the phone, it won’t come as a surprise if the company will upgrade it to Android 4.4 KitKat in the not-too-distant future. One thing that hasn’t been announced as of now was whether the phone might be released in other countries out there as well. For the time being, only users in China can enjoy its capabilities.
