BBM Crashes on iOS 7.0.3, BlackBerry Working on a Fix

BBM users who upgraded their iPhones to iOS 7.0.3 have been affected by a critical bug that makes the instant messaging application almost impossible to use.

As CrackBerry points out, BlackBerry Messenger application uses a special HelveticaNeue-Italic font, which, unfortunately, has been removed by Apple in the iOS 7.0.3 update. This issue causes BBM to randomly crash. The problem is said to affect all iPhone users who upgraded to iOS 7.0.3, but those who kept their smartphones on a previous version don’t have any problem using BBM.

The good news is BlackBerry is aware of this problem and is working hard to offer a fix as soon as possible. We will keep an eye out for any updates on the issue, so stay tuned for additional info when it becomes available.
