One of the oldest Android smartphones that might still be available in some regions, the LG Optimus S survives the onslaught of dual-core and quad-core handsets thanks to the generous community.
AndroidCentral forum user drewwalton19216801 has just released a Jelly Bean ROM based on CyanogenMod 10. Yes, it may seem surprising for such a low-end device, but it looks like the guys working on this project managed to boot the ROM on an Optimus S device. Rest assure that there are still some things that need to be ironed out, such as the camera, MMS and Google Now, but this project is a work in progress, so expect more updates in the future.
For the time being, the following features currently work: calls (including microphone), SMS, 3G data, Wi-Fi connectivity, Graphics Acceleration (for the UI), Sensors (accelerometer, proximity sensor) and GPS.
