Even though wireless charging isn't a totally new idea, it seems to interest people nowadays, as we saw after writing that bit about the new reference designs.
Intel probably didn't expect all its ultrabooks, and other products, to be totally overshadowed by a keyboard. Sure, it may have prepared for general curiosity, but not the total capture of visitor attention that Engadget reported. Long story short, Intel brought a wireless keyboard to Computex, one that only needs to touch the base of the PC next to it (with the base or the edge, it doesn't matter) in order to activate its inductive charging ability.
Intel didn't say how long it will take until the technology starts to spread among PCs and peripherals, but it did admit to considering other uses for it (in mice or other accessories).
