Computer accessory vendor Belkin has issued upgrades to its Thunderbolt Express Dock range, as well as new Thunderbolt cables for Macs.
The Thunderbolt Express Dock connects to up to nine desktop peripherals with one cable. It turns a mobile PC into a desktop solution in a few seconds, and the upgraded version includes the addition of three USB 3.0 ports (replacing the former two USB 2.0 ports), as well as an eSata port. Both the dock and the one-meter Thunderbolt cable leverage 10 gigabits-per-second, bidirectional speeds. For example, they can transfer full HD movies in 30 seconds.
The Belkin Thunderbolt Cable will be available in July 2012 at select retailers across the globe, as well as from the official Belkin web site. The Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock will be available worldwide come September 2012 and it will retail for $399.99 (around €320).
