Verizon Wireless is one of the mobile phone carriers in the United States to plan the release of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone on its network, the latest reports on the matter suggest.
A recently leaked roadmap from the operator has already unveiled such plans, and a recent leak appears to confirm that.
Apparently, Big Red is on its way to bring to the market a new Samsung handset that features model number SCH-I535, a recently spotted User Agent Profile shows.
The phone appears to have a 720p display and to be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, while running under the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Galaxy S III is expected to feature a quad-core application processor in other parts of the world, but it appears that it will need a dual-core S4 chip from Qualcomm for use in the United States, the same as HTC’s flagship One X.
