Brazos 2.0 Acer Aspire E1-421 Pictured

Neither Acer nor Advanced Micro Devices has formally spoken about the Aspire E1-421, but that didn't stop retailers and watchful people from revealing its existence.

In fact, we have something better than a rumor to report on in this instance: the Brazos 2.0-based laptop has been caught on photo.

The AMD accelerated processing unit (APU) is called E1-1200 and has two x86 cores, plus Radeon graphics.

The clock speed of the CPU cores is 1.4 GHz and the GPU is the Radeon HD 7310. The latter relies on 256MB of the system memory.

Speaking of which, the E1-1200 is backed by 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and, thus, can do pretty much everything owners could need, even play certain games.

The display isn't too shabby either: at 14 inches in diagonal, it boasts a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD).

Moving on, the storage capacity of 320 GB, provided by a hard disk drive unit (HDD), isn't really monumental, but it is still more than decent.

As for the rest, a DVD Super Multi optical drive exists, along with 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, integrated audio/speakers, Gigabit Ethernet and other I/O, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, a 2-in-1 card reader and two video outputs (VGA and HDMI). This listing says so, though it gives no price.

Advanced Micro Devices has previously said that its latest APUs already have a good number of design wins to brag about.

This must be one of them, although we think the typo on the box could have been done without. Ah well, this is an early sighting, so Acer still has time to procure a new batch of boxes.

Acer's Aspire E1-421 runs the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system, according to the sticker on the left of the trackpad. We're certain Windows 8 will take its place later this year.
