South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to launch a new Android flagship device in the near future, though not at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
We’re referring here to the Samsung Galaxy S III, a smartphone long rumored to arrive on shelves as the successor of last year’s Galaxy S II.
Nothing has been officially unveiled on the new device as of yet, but a recent article on BGR claims to reveal info on the hardware specs of this device, along with details on its availability.
Apparently, Samsung is set to make the smartphone available in a variety of markets at the same time.
The smartphone will be launched in more than 50 “markets or cities” simultaneously, which should help the device pick up pace fast.
If that wasn’t enough, the handset is also said to pack a large 4.8-inch touchscreen display, capable of delivering a “full HD” 1080p resolution. The mobile phone’s display will also boast a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Inside, the new device will pack a fast and powerful 1.5GHz quad-core application processor from Samsung’s Exynos family of chips.
Moreover, it is said to feature an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution. It also sports a 2-megapixel camera on the front, great for making video calls.
The specs list of this device is also said to include a ceramic case, and support for 4G LTE networks. All the usual connectivity features that can be found in today’s Android smartphones will also be included inside this device.
All in all, it appears that Galaxy S III will indeed be the impressive device that the successor of Galaxy S II was expected to be. All that remains to be seen is when exactly it will hit the market, so stay tuned for more on this.
