DotA Guide: Yurnero - The Juggernaut Introduction

DotA is the most popular custom made map for Warcraft III. To allow players a better comprehension of this complex and sometimes complicated game here is a hero guide.

One of the best Agility based melee fighter this game has, Yurnero can turn the tide of a battle if played correctly. You can recruit him from the Sentinel Agility Tavern.

He performs well alone or with a teammate. Try to ally with a stunner (perhaps a ranged one) and your lane will not get breached. Farming is also a very important part, Blade Fury allowing him to earn gold from early levels.

There is little to know about this mysterious swordsman: "Slicing through armor with the greatest of ease. Whirling, dancing like a dervish, swiping foes with a flick of the wrist.

Poetry in motion, slashing enemy upon enemy in the blink of an eye. Yurnero seeks perfection. Seeks to become one with his blade. All to fulfill his destiny as the unstoppable Juggernaut."

Even if it has a slow strength, Yurnero more then makes up with his cool spells. If used correctly he can easy gain first blood. Let's take a look and learn more about them:

Blade Fury (Shortkey F) - When activated, the spell will turn Yurnero 100% magic resistant and deals damage (80/100/120/140) to units surrounding 200 AoE. This can also be used against buildings.

Healing Ward (Shortkey G) - A slow moving ward that will heal every allied unit (2/3/4/5% hitpoints every second) in a 500 AoE. The ward can be destroyed so you'd better keep out of battle.

Blade Dance (Shortkey C) - This is a very good passive skill that will allow Juggernaut to do double the attack: 15/20/25/35% chance. Combined with some life steal, attacks can turn into a a never ending source of life regeneration.

Omnislash (Shortkey E) - Yurnero stars slicing through the battlefield, hitting multiple targets (3/5/8). You can improve these values by equipping a Aghanim's Scepter. While using the ultimatum, the hero becomes invulnerable.

With one of the most powerful healing spells in the entire game, with a high chance for critical damage an ultimatum that all know and fear, the Juggernaut can also improve his performance through some powerful items. I suggest you try: Butterfly, Monkey King Bar, Battle Fury, Assault Cuirass, Boots of Travel and even Aghanim's Scepter.
