Corsair was one of the first memory makers to announce quad-channel memory kits for Intel's just released Sandy Bridge-E processors and a couple of moments ago the company has expanded its LGA 2011 DDR3 lineup to include several new solutions optimized for these CPUs.
The more powerful of these new solutions were released into the same Dominator product range as before and are assembled using tightly screened DRAM chips.
All the modules come with support for XMP 1.3 profiles, require 1.5V in order to operate and use Corsair's own DHX+ heatsink technology.
Depending on the kit chosen, speeds range between 1600MHz and 2133MHz, while timings are set at CL9 or CL10.
The other quad-channel optimized memory kits to be announced today come under the Vengeance branding and also support XMP 1.3 profiles, but use simpler aluminum heat spreaders for cooling the chips inside.
These are also running at lower speeds (DDR3 1600MHz and 1866MHz), and timing vary between CL8 and CL10.
The good new is that Corsair also has a series of low-voltage Vengeance kits available that require only 1.35V to operate.
"Corsair is proud to support the new 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 processor family for Socket LGA-2011 with a broad range of extreme-performance and high-performance quad channel memory kits," said Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair.
"These kits are ideal for PC performance enthusiasts, whether they're competitive overclockers, gamers, workstation builders, or they simply want the ability to equip their new system with up to 32GB of reliable, high-performance memory," concluded the company's rep.
The new Corsair Dominator memory upgrade kits are available as we speak from the company's website as well as from various other retailers. Pricing starts at $146.75or about 107 EUR. No information regarding the availability of the Vengeance kits was revealed.
